Can you say "Preston Bailey"

We had the phenomenal experience to decorate for the most respected floral designer, author, wedding planner in the industry! Preston was fabulous! Although his plane arrived late, he still came to meet all the floral vendors and review our work before his private show began! Preston only had one request for his show case which was that we utilize the nature theme. The Hilton Waterfront Hotel was our canvas and Graceful Designs teamed up with Floral T events to decorate the hallway and make it happen during the Uniquely Yours Bridal Showcase!
Preston loved our designs, tweeted our creations and invited us to decorate for his potential brides in DC! We couldn't have been more thrilled! What a blessing to have a top designer critique your floral designs and promote your work!!!!! I felt like I was dreaming as he again mentioned our unique peacock designs during his private bridal show and had our team stand up to represent our work! Preston truly gave back in a way that I have never experienced in this industry! We at Graceful Designs can't express our appreciation enough on working with the best in our industry! Bravo Preston! You made a huge impact in the Hampton Roads area!

Grace in action

Grace in Action

All I can say is gorgeous!
Tonya our bride was absolutely captivating as she came down the aisle in the most beautiful selected dress from the show "Say yes to the dress!" Tonya was the epitome of grace throughout the evening as she ensured her husband had his favorite treat immediately served to the guests right after the ceremony. Both the bride and the groom cared for each other and ensured all their guests were taken care of ......how very sweet to observe as the planners, as we ensured it all happened effortlessly! The Town Point Club offered the beautiful venue and service to this elegant reception where fun was had by all! The Louboutins the bride wore with her dress were admired by many!
Congrats Tonya and Corey!

Top of the Year!

David Tutera Visits Hampton Roads!

We were thrilled to be one of the few florists chosen to design for the one and only David Tutera! What an amazing experience and he was so personable! All of the designs were incredible and if the network chooses a bride in this area we will be part of the design team!

Such a blessing!

Our Valentine's Day Bride

Angelica was the sweetest bride! She knew what she wanted and I simply implemented her beautiful design. Ken from AMPA events captured her beautiful lighting in both the ceremony and reception as well! We chose a 24 foot crystal curtain with specialty lighting and a gobo on the bridal runway! The reception featured 5ft boccara rose arrangements with a touch of crystal beadings and tons of large crystals scattered on the tables! Extra unique toouches included hand opened roses floating in a water gel solution and lots of candles which invited the celebratory intimacy into the room. It was amazing!
Cake- Gourmet Bake Shop
Venue- Hampton Convention Center

Congratulations Grant and Angelica!

What to look for in a Florist?

When selecting a florist for your wedding......
Your wedding vision is a reflection of your love for each other and how you want it expressed on your special day.
The following quick tips are helpful for choosing a florist and or decorator:
Professional experience is a must:
Choose a florist that has wedding experience and can produce pictures of their work. Ask specific questions on where they order their flowers and how early they will design your flowers for your day. Check there references and read their testimonials from former brides. Experience is the key word!
Understanding your vision:
Can the florist clearly communicate back to you your vision in flowers? Ask for an itemized quote to ensure you have the flowers you requested with the details you covered during your consultation.
Florists are artistic designers so as the bride you need to ensure they capture your ideas correctly. Some of my past brides provide me artistic creativity and only want to provide their colors and the rest is up to me as a designer. Then, there are brides who know exactly what they want and want it exactly the way they have described it to the "T". Fortunately I love working with both types of brides as my floral experience allows me to design for any bride. Make sure as a bride you identify what type of florist you need and then interview to ensure their skills match your expectations.
Schedule a sample mock - up:
After choosing and booking a florist always schedule a mock up design to ensure you are getting exactly what you are expecting. This is the time I offer my brides to critique and offer feedback to edit their designs. This is a great way for both bride and florist to communicate expectations.
